I'm also offended when government does this. I pay roughly seven times as much property tax as my neighbor (houses are identical floorplans built in 1972) simply because of when I bought. Thanks California! (Prop 13)
Ps to my comment above also- I personally think that I'm more intelligent, interesting, fun, humorous, intriguing, authentic, loving & caring, curious, adventurous, compassionate, articulate, stronger, persistent, persevering, hopeful, thankful, greatful and so many others than what any algo could ever conclude about me. Sad to think this is what some want us to become.
All those good things about me or other's it reminds me of the "Educated derelicts" supposedly educated algos a good question to ask is who what why and where did they get their supposed diploma on such things.
I see this as a slippery slope 🚨 one can also take this down the rabbit hole of thought concerning price points aimed at political views, a persons faith, a persons ethnicity or gender or or or a long list of unfair techno pricing added to those you mentioned. Being a free market & well regulated sort myself I find this frightening and believe in the long run it's really not worth the $ that's supposedly saved by these CO's or their CEO perks & salaries. If one has a good product priced fairly and competitively that should be enough without all the surveillance subtrafuge I pricing. We have and used to have more laws against this also. I do have to laugh also when I think that the algos are now supposedly defining who we or what I really am. Sure certain averages of things might point the way toward a preference or other especially if breaking the law or your algo show your a perv or something but when I imagine what digital algo or digital whatever on me personally I have to think to myself just how much they don't really know of which far outweighs any algo or data collection. Truthfully it insults me or would if anyone ever suggested they knew me by them without even ever having the courtesy of really knowing me or wanting to get to know me. In the very least not even ever having a correspondence or conversation with me. What I might order, what I might read or view put out into the tech sphere or research etc but that's it. I really wouldn't call that actually knowing anyone.

I'm offended, and how very unfair! Wouldn't have known without your article. Thank you.
