Here in Alaska the governors office has been corrupted by GOP and oil and mining industries. Its interesting how the strucural weaknesses they've exploited are so different but ultimately with the same disastrous results for local economies. The money is sucked away to benefit and subsidize corporate interests to the tune of billions of dollars. Without federal largess the state with the most resources in our country would be completely tanked. Even with the solid evidence of declining population, a flatlining economy, and brain drain of our youth we keep marching down the same GOP road.

As maddening some of these policies are, it's nice to hear when good ones replace them.
I am sick my state’s subsidy program (New Jersey). PS Pat deserves some subsidy for all his good work to inform us about these scams.
